The Innovation Certificate consists of two 8-week courses in which students first learn about Design Thinking, and then apply the design thinking skills by designing solutions to challenging problems they care about.

By using the tools of  Design Thinking and by partnering with teachers, classmates, and professionals, students learn to create the change they want to see in the world. Upon successfully completing the program, students are eligible to apply for our 4-week summer micro-internship.

Some important details:

• Program is designed for current high school students.

• Students meet with our credentialed teacher once or twice a week, via video call, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. However, cohorts are regional and  there may be occasional optional opportunities to meet in person.

• The fall course begins in September and wraps up in November. The spring course begins in January and ends in March. The summer internships run in June and July.

• Program cost is $1500. The micro-internship is an additional $500 fee. However, we work with families on a sliding scale and ability to pay should not inhibit enrollment. We can also support materials / equipment needs for the program.
